Huawei to launch Honor 5C, tablet in India today,


     Huawei’s sub-brand Honor today is hosting an event in New Delhi, where it is expected to launch two devices. One of the them is the Honor 5C smartphone, which was launched earlier this year in China. Reports say that the other device being launched today is a 7-inch tablet in the Media-pad series with voice calling abilities. Honor’s event kicks off at11.00 am. Essentially the successor to last year’s Honor 4C smartphone. Unlike last year’s smartphone though, the Honor 5C is cased in a metal body and also boasts a fingerprint scanner.

It features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, and is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 650 octa-core chipset paired with Mali T830 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It also offers 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Honor 5C also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 3,000mAh battery, and FM Radio. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS, GLONASS. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under EMUI 4.

Honor is also set to launch a new MediaPad tablet today, ToI reports. It is said to feature a 7-inch display and 4,100mAh battery. While details are scarce, this could be the MediaPad M2 7.0, which was launched in May this year. The tablet features a 7-inch (1920×1080 pixels) display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a pair of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras.
